Announcing the first meeting of 2008-2009

This year's theme is EROSION. To begin us on this year-long journey, Dr. Robert Jarrett from the USGS will be sharing a presentation titled:

"Insights in Flood Science using Paleoflood Hydrology"

Dr. Jarrett has 37 years of experience in flood hydrology and hydraulics, and paleoflood hydrology, with much of his career working on flood hydrology related to dam safety. This lecture provides an overview of recent flood and paleoflood research as well as lessons learned from studying extraordinary flash floods, dam-failure floods, and floods in recently burned watersheds.

Our meeting will be held September 24, 2008 in room 3523 in the North Classroom building on the campus of the University of Colorado at Denver http://www.ahec.edu/parking/parking.htm
Our speaker will begin at 7pm. We will have social-hour beginning at 5:30pm at Old Chicago (1415 Market St) for anyone that is interested.
