HYDRAULIC ENGINEER POSITION

SUMMARY OF HYDRAULIC ENGINEER POSITION
Headwaters Corporation is soliciting candidates for a hydraulic engineer. The position responsibilities include planning, managing, and executing all aspects of hydraulics-related projects for the Corporation. The hydraulics engineer will provide leadership in the areas of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering associated with hydraulic and sediment transport modeling, river engineering, field sampling and data collection, project permitting, and provide technical leadership and quality control review for hydraulic, geomorphology, and sediment augmentation projects. This position requires ensuring that all deliverables comply with technical, project, budgetary, and time constraints. This will involve producing deliverables, working as a team member, and managing other consultants.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Master of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a hydraulics/river engineering concentration required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering and project management experience with water resources projects.
Proven experience in developing and maintaining client relations.
Knowledge of GIS applications in water resources and hydraulics.
Strong public speaking and excellent writing skills.
Preferred experience includes hydrology and hydraulics, computer modeling, geomorphology, field sampling, surveying and data collection, and environmental permitting. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or eligible.
Effective time management, interpersonal and organizational skills, and team oriented attitude.
Proven competence and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Based either in Denver metro area or Nebraska in Kearney or Lincoln.
If located in Colorado, requires ability to travel out of state, on average 4 days (2 nights) per month to Wyoming and Nebraska.
Ambitious, self-motivated, ability to work well on a team and independently.
Requires a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
